Wife likes bittersweet. Local ski place- from Kalamazoo. Has ski jumps, obstacles, good runs for beginners. No lift lines today (Sunday). Fees seemed reasonable- rentals, lift ticket. Helmet was $15; I would recommend DEFINITELY for children. Ski patrol also appreciated. Was referred by Mark D (ski patrol) to try skiing here.

Fantastic experience bringing first time 4yr old skier and 8yr old snowboarder for private lessons. Mike did a fantastic job, and Brady did a fantastic job. All of the staff including specifically Ed (Director of Ski School) and Malina in rentals were amazing. Kids love it now and this might be a common habgout spot for our family!

Lived in SW Michigan for most of my life and have always enjoyed the skiing and general atmosphere at Bittersweet. They have a wonderful staff, from the team in the lodge to the chair lift operators, everyone is kind and helpful. Having a first-year skier, this is a wonderful place to learn the sport. Good gradual step-ups in challenges.

Best little ski resort in Michigan. They have the best beginner area with two carpets and a triple chairlift. Great ski school for those in need of a lesson. For the intermediate and advanced skiers there are two high speed lifts to get you to the top. A variety of terrain no matter your skill level. There park crew always have a challenging set of features and jumps. Great outdoor patio with fire pit and grill on the weekends. Well stocked Pro Shop for all of your gear needs. Cafeteria and snack shack have a good selection of food and snacks. The bar has a great viewing area to see the hill. Highly recommended for a great family experience for skiers and riders of all ages. This is where our family has skied for the past 30 years.

Great time. We took our kids for the first time here to ski. Only downfall was there isn’t as much skiing area for first timers or beginners areas to ski and a little pricey for beginners or first timers. My husband and I could go ski on the bigger slopes and had tons todo. But overall great slopes and if you need to rent they have plenty of equipment, they have a place for Food and Snacks and a great bar area except part of it was closed so you couldn’t sit to see out. Great little fire place outside they need more than one so fyi snag a seat when one opens around the fire. The bar has a huge fireplace thats warm and relaxing great atmosphere. Just wish there was more lounge relaxing area like the bar had for the families side. We had a great time and we will definitely be back we had an overall great experience and fun time. Great place !!!! Our kids loved it !!

A whole section for "beginners"??? Sign me up! As someone with tweens who hasn't skied herself in 20 years, this place is perfect! Enough for a full day of skiing and still not be super sore the next day! I didn't venture to the other side so can't speak to the blue and black runs, but the greens were plentiful and diverse! I would do the private lessons over the ski school if we did it over as some kids picked it up faster than others and didn't get everything they needed in the time allocated. Still recommend "some" kind of lesson though! The instructors were friendly and my kids thought the world of them! I also had the pleasure? of experiencing Bittersweet's security office. They mobilized immediately and found my "missing" teen within 10 mins of my report! Its a scary experience but they were fast and supportive throughout! The lodge was a little short on indoor seating but the food was great, drinks were tasty, and the outdoor fire area was warm and easily accessible! My only gripe was the lift lines and the lack of organization around them.

Our family loves Bittersweet! Renting skis was so easy, instructors for ski school for the kids were great and it wasn’t overly crowded. The runs were great with enough variety to keep us busy all day. The kids had a blast and the lodge was well maintained and clean. My son and husband loved the burgers at the outdoor grill and my daughter and I had a quick meal in the restaurant. We will definitely be back!
